ODL Learning & Teaching
Each new student will be supplied with a student handbook. You can use the handbook as your basic guide. In addition, students can refer to the https://pace.uum.edu.my/ website.
It depends on the course. The to-do list for each course will appear in the LMS at the beginning of the semester. Your lecturer will also inform you of the type of assignment involved for the course you are taking.
Assignments must be submitted through the LMS. The lecturer will guide you through the assignment submission process.
For ODL students, you need to take synchronous classes virtually and do not need to attend physical classes. Attendance will be taken for the synchronous class. However, if you are unable to attend, you will still have the opportunity to review the recorded video. Physical attendance is required only for programs that have physical activities such as practical and laboratory.
Your lecturer will monitor learning progress and you will need to complete at least 80% of the self-paced learning activities of each course by the end of the semester.
Lecturer information and details for each course will be posted on the LMS. In addition, you can also get in touch with the program coordinator regarding academic matters.
You will need a computer or laptop with a camera, microphone, and speakers. You will also need a strong Internet connection and an up-to-date web browser.
ODL students will be provided with materials in the form of texts (complete ODL modules), videos, discussions, self-practice and audio to maximize students\' understanding of the learning content in the LMS.
Learning Management Systems or better known as LMS is a learning management system. LMS is the main platform for ODL students to carry out learning activities during their stay in the ODL programme at UUM.

ODL Program at UUM
The convocation ceremony will be held at UUM Sintok, Kedah.
Yes. You can come and visit the campus but it is not mandatory.
The ODL program has 2 semesters in 1 academic year, namely April (Semester 1) and October (Semester 2). This also means that the intake of students to the ODL programme can be done 2 times in each academic year subject to the approval of the University Senate. New students can apply for admission to the program at any semester in addition to semester 1. Semester 1 and 2 nomination refers to the academic intake and session for an academic year.
Yes. You are allowed to change the mode of study from full-time to part-time or vice versa subject to academic regulations.
Yes. The ODL program at UUM has received provisional accreditation and is justified for bidding.
No. The Open and Distance Learning status is only listed on your transcript.

UUM\'s ODL programme is implemented entirely online for both local and international offerings.
